US Naval Blockade Iran: USS Rafael Peralta Intercept

Date:

The US Central Command, CENTCOM, says that the guided-missile destroyer USS Rafael Peralta has stopped an Iranian-flagged ship that was heading towards an Iranian port.

CENTCOM, posting a photo on the social network X, says that the collision with the ship is in line with the implementation of the US naval blockade against Iranian ports in the Persian Gulf.

The naval blockade of Iran began on 14 April 1405.

The US gave the reason for this action as preventing the transfer of oil revenues, dual-use equipment and financial resources to Iran and said that the goal is to reduce Tehran’s ability to finance its military and nuclear programs.

CENTCOM had previously announced that it had forced a total of 33 ships to change course since the implementation of the naval blockade of Iran.

The naval blockade of Iranian ports ordered by Donald Trump was one of the cases that drew sharp criticism from Iranian officials, who decided to close the Strait of Hormuz once again as a violation of the ceasefire.
