Air raid alerts sounded throughout Ukraine as a large swarm of attack drones crossed the Russian border shortly after 11:00 a.m. local time.
At least one Ukrainian air alert tracker indicated that approximately 200 Shahed-type drones were present in Ukrainian airspace.
Ukraine’s Air Force issued a warning shortly before noon that drones were approaching Kyiv from the north, coinciding with the activation of air raid sirens across the capital. Explosions resulting from air defense operations were heard shortly thereafter.
A considerable number of the drones seemed to be advancing further south and west towards the central Ukrainian city of Khmelnytskyi. Khmelnytskyi Oblast Military Governor Serhii Tiurin communicated via Telegram that air defenses were active in the area and reported that two individuals had sustained injuries.
