Hassan Rouhani, the former head of state in the Islamic Republic, wrote in a message that one must be prepared to end the war “with honor” in the interests of the country and the people, and that coordinating the country’s resources is essential to prevent aggression against the Persian Gulf islands and maintain control of the Strait of Hormuz.
He added: “Given the responsibility of the Supreme National Security Council in managing the country’s war situation, it is appropriate for this council to immediately discuss and decide on various scenarios for continuing or ending the war in the legal process in order to neutralize the enemy’s “aggressive and deceptive” plans.”
Hassan Rouhani added: “The necessity of preserving the country and the Islamic Republic’s system is to immediately implement fundamental reforms in policymaking, and the people have exhausted their arguments against the officials.”
