The British Prime Minister announced that London does not intend to enter into military conflicts between the United States and Israel against the Islamic Republic and does not consider this war to be related to the direct interests of Britain.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said on Wednesday, April 12, 1405, that his government is trying to prevent the crisis from spreading in the region through diplomatic channels and will not enter into war with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
According to him, Britain will host an international meeting with the participation of dozens of countries at the end of the week to discuss the issue of opening the Strait of Hormuz. He emphasized that 35 countries have been contacted for this meeting and diplomatic, political options and, if necessary, military scenarios are to be discussed.
The British Prime Minister also announced the development of a five-stage plan for managing the Strait of Hormuz crisis and said that talks with European partners will continue in the coming weeks.
In another part of his speech, Starmer referred to the importance of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, calling it the most effective defense treaty and emphasizing his country’s commitment to it.
In response to US President Donald Trump’s statements about the possibility of Washington’s withdrawal from NATO, he said that London’s decisions would be made based on the country’s national interests and would not be influenced by foreign pressure. Trump had previously announced in an interview with the Daily Telegraph that he was seriously considering the US withdrawal from the military alliance.
