US Secretary of War Pete Hegsett said at a press conference with Donald Trump that the US armed forces were able to rescue two pilots by carrying out a “precise and breathtaking” operation in a mountainous area and once again showed the power of the US military.
He added that one of the pilots escaped for more than a day and after establishing contact, he sent a message that he was fine. Hegsett stressed that the US armed forces would not abandon any American.
Hegsett said that this operation would not have been possible without Trump’s leadership and that the Islamic Republic’s forces were humiliated and embarrassed.
The US Secretary of War concluded by saying that Iran now has a choice and must make a smart decision.
