A Ukrainian pilot from the BULAVA unit, Roman ‘Hulk’, has downed two Shahed-type drones from 500 km away – an unprecedented distance for remote interception.
This marks the first known case where an interceptor drone was guided from such a range and successfully hit its targets – not one, but two!
It was made possible by technology developed by Ukrainian engineers at Wild Hornets, which allows operators to remain far from the launch site while still maintaining control. In practice, it means greater flexibility, faster response, and wider coverage.
This is what modern air defence looks like: adaptable and built on real battlefield experience.
