In response to Donald Trump’s remarks about opening the Strait of Hormuz, Esmail Baghaei, spokesman for the Islamic Republic’s Foreign Ministry, said that the route remains under the Islamic Republic’s supervision. He added: “If the naval blockade they have mentioned continues, we will undoubtedly take the necessary measures and there will be no adjustments in this regard.”
He added: “If the other side wants to breach its commitments again, which it seems it intends to do, the Islamic Republic of Iran will take the necessary countermeasures.”
