The Israeli army announced on Wednesday that it had simultaneously completed a large-scale and coordinated attack on Hezbollah military bases and infrastructure in three regions: Beirut, Bekaa and southern Lebanon. The strikes came after Hezbollah forces attempted to expand their activities and penetrate more areas north of Beirut, the IDF said.
According to the statement, the operation targeted around 100 targets in three regions, including more than 45 Hezbollah headquarters, around 40 military buildings used by the group’s commanders to advance their plans, and infrastructure belonging to senior commanders.
The IDF said that around 35 military facilities were targeted in Beirut, including the emergency headquarters of the intelligence unit, the headquarters of the Radwan Force and the headquarters of the missile unit. Around 40 other facilities, including Hezbollah weapons depots, were also attacked in southern Lebanon, while the Radwan Force and the intelligence unit, along with other facilities, were also targeted in the Bekaa region.
The Israeli army described these attacks as a heavy blow to Hezbollah’s operational capabilities and command.
