Kuwait Airport Closure: No Flight Approval Granted

Date:

Kuwait’s Public Authority for Civil Aviation on Thursday denied circulating claims about resuming flights at Kuwait International Airport, confirming that no official approvals have been issued and the airport remains closed.

The authority’s official spokesperson Abdullah Al-Rajhi said that a social media post, attributed to an airline, falsely reported the restart of flights from Kuwait International Airport.

Al-Rajhi stressed the information is incorrect, noting that no approvals have been granted to date and urging the public to verify information through official sources and avoid unreliable online reports.

He reaffirmed the DGCA’s commitment to transparency, adding that updates will be announced through its official communication channels.

The DGCA had announced on February 28 the temporary closure of Kuwaiti airspace to aircraft and passengers due to regional political and security developments. The measure was taken as a precaution to safeguard passengers, airlines and airport operations against potential risks.
