Sharif Announces US-Pakistan Peace Talks in Islamabad

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced on Friday that delegations from the Islamic Republic and the United States were arriving in Islamabad to participate in talks aimed at securing lasting peace in the region.
In a televised address to the nation, he described the current phase of the negotiations as a “decisive moment” and thanked the leaders of the Islamic Republic and the United States for accepting a ceasefire and holding peace talks at his request.
The Pakistani prime minister added that his government would make every effort to ensure the success of the peace process and asked citizens to pray for the success of the talks.
