Fox News reported that if Washington’s talks with the Islamic Republic fail, the United States will likely move quickly to weaken Tehran’s military capabilities.
The American media outlet quoted retired US Air Force Lieutenant General David Deptola as saying that if the talks collapse, the US would try to eliminate Tehran’s remaining leverage.
“The capabilities that will be in focus are those that Iran uses to create leverage: ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, air defense systems, naval attack equipment, command and control networks, Revolutionary Guard infrastructure, proxy support channels, and nuclear-related facilities,” he said.
“President Trump holds all the cards and is wisely keeping all options on the table to ensure that Iran can never obtain a nuclear weapon,” White House spokeswoman Olivia Wells told Fox News Digital.
