Ukraine’s Umerov Engages with US Officials in Florida for Diplomatic Discussions

Date:

Ukraine’s chief negotiator, Rustem Umerov, is scheduled to meet with US officials in Florida on Thursday to discuss strategies for concluding the ongoing full-scale Russian invasion, as reported by Kyiv on the same day, amidst stalled negotiations related to the Iran war.

“The Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine will engage in a series of discussions today with representatives of the President of the United States,” stated Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in a post on X.

Zelenskyy mentioned that Kyiv has “identified the key objectives,” which include deliberating on a possible prisoner exchange with Russia and establishing security guarantees for Ukraine in the post-war context.

“Rustem and I have talked about collaborating with our European partners on Drone Deals. We are in the process of preparing the agreements that have been reached at the highest levels, along with new initiatives in joint technological endeavors,” Zelenskyy noted.
