Iran Rejects US Negotiation Claims for Islamabad Meeting

Date:

Tasnim, a news agency affiliated with the Revolutionary Guards, responded to a CNN report about Whittaker and Kushner’s trip to meet with Araqchi in Islamabad by writing: “Araqchi’s trip is not for negotiations with the Americans, but rather he will discuss with the Pakistani side the Islamic Republic’s considerations regarding the end of the war.”

Tasnim published this report while White House spokeswoman Caroline Leavitt also announced in an interview with Fox News that the Islamic Republic had requested a face-to-face meeting with American officials in Islamabad, saying: “The Iranians called, as the president had asked them to, and requested this face-to-face meeting.”
