Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Masoud Pezzekian reacted to the US President’s remarks on Thursday, May 22, 2021, in a joint text published on the filtered social network X, under strict internet restrictions.
The joint text states: “In Iran, there are no extremists or moderates; we are all Iranians and revolutionaries, and with the iron unity of the nation and the government, and with full obedience to the Supreme Leader of the Revolution, we will make the criminal aggressor regret it. One God, one leader, one nation, and one path; and that is the path to victory for Iran, dearer than life.”
An hour before this post was published, Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei, the head of the judiciary, also wrote separately on the same social network: “Extremist and moderate are fabricated and meaningless terms that are prevalent in Western political literature. In Islamic Iran, all strata and factions are ultimately consistent and coherent under the orders of the Supreme Leader of the Revolution.”
In response to Trump’s statements about the confusion of Islamic Republic officials in identifying the leader, Abbas Araqchi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic, wrote in a post on X: “The field and diplomacy are two completely coordinated fronts in a single war.”
“Donald Trump” wrote on Truth Social on the evening of 23 May 1405: “Iran is very confused these days in determining who is leading it; they really don’t know what is going on.”
He continued: “The internal conflicts between the extremists who are facing serious defeats on the battlefield and the moderates who are not so moderate are going on in a completely chaotic and crazy way.”
